CONVERSATIONS AND CULTURE
The Conversation Club was organised by the SICAP team in collaboration with State Street volunteers from America, Ireland, and Mexico and volunteers from local Secondary Schools. The Conversation Club welcomes members from newer communities in Kilkenny, including Algerians, Egyptians, Ukrainians, Afghans, Nigerians, Kurds, Ugandans, and Cameroonians. This project provides a safe space for migrants to discuss their lives, communities, and cultures while practicing English. It is also a great opportunity to meet new, like-minded people. This initiative has fostered increased cultural awareness within the group and enhanced understanding among all the participants.
The Conversation Club meets on Tuesdays and Friday Evenings. Time: 6:30pm – 7:30pm at the Mayfair Library. If you are interested in joining, call us at 056 775 2111.
