Seeking Requests for

Proposals under the Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP), for the delivery of ‘Kickstart Training Programme’, and Individual Progression Planning supports to KLP clients: with a focus on those from a migrant background.

Programmes/activities must have a focus addressing the particular challenges faced by New Arrivals/Migrant groups, and/or aimed at supporting them into employment and better employment outcomes. Can include supporting them to develop a plan to progress into further education, training, upskilling or the labour market. KLP, under the Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme has a small fund to support activities/programmes under the headings below. Other KLP clients may also be referred onnto the programme.

Course Structure; to deliver four courses to end of 2025: These would be three-week rotations per course consisting of:

  • Two 3-hour sessions per week x 3 weeks per programme.
  • Four programmes delivered before end 2025.
  • Feedback and input sessions with client’s SICAP Development Workers midway through and at completion of each course to ensure seamless progression planning
  • 10 participants per rotation
  • Early September start date.

Delivery and Reporting structure should include

  • A proposed work plan for each programme
  • Track Attendance of participants
  • Individual progression liaison with KLP Development Officers
  • Feedback from students and employers
  • Any promotional materials relating to the Project e.g. Photographs etc

 

Content

  • Quality CV development
  • Jobsearch skills and resources
  • Interview Skills and conducting mock interviews with participants
  • Understanding Irish Workplace culture
  • Understanding Employment Rights and Laws, including Equality and anti-discrimination
  • Ability to signpost and support participants, as well as assist in the development of Personal Assessment Planning and progression with SICAP development officers
  • Leading, with the support of the the SICAP team the building and development of good working relationships with local Employers, with the aim of supporting SICAP clients into suitable work in local Kilkenny based companies

Outputs/outcomes

  • Increasing overwork readiness of candidates
  • Building client confidence and understanding of utilizing transferrable skills
  • To progress candidates to a short-term work placement where appropriate
  • To generate progressions into employment, internships, progress to further education and self- employment via the programme

Methodology/Approach

  • The candidate will identify how they can work from a strengths-based approach, to support the building of confidence and personal initiative with the participants.
  • To work through language interpretation where needed. This can be resourced through a separate budget under the programme. Hiring of venue will also be resourced separately.

To qualify applicants must

  • Have experience delivering employment programmes/projects.
  • Have experience working with diverse and marginalised groups.
  • Be able to reflect an understanding of issues attached to social inclusion/exclusion.
  • Relevant administration skills that support the necessary recording, reporting and administration of the delivery of accredited and uncredited programmes or modules.
  • Demonstrate relationships/connections to employers/employer networks in the region.

Proposals must contain

  • Cover letter/email
  • A CV/Personal Profile or Organisation overview
  • An outline of the proposal or approach to module/programme/project and deliverables, and full detailed costing of delivery.

  • Copy of insurance where appropriate
