KLP has facilitated a number of Consultations with communities and stakeholders on the design and focus of the new Local Development Strategy. These meetings have garnered valuable information that reflects the needs and priorities of the local area. These consultations have empowered communities and stakeholders to shape the LEADER development process and contribute to finding new and creative solutions to local challenges.
LEADER is a ‘bottoms up’ approach to rural and community development. This EU wide Rural Development Programme is a crucial initiative aimed at enhancing the well-being of rural communities. The program provides funding, support, and guidance to local communities and businesses in rural areas, with a focus on economic and social development and environmental sustainability. Overall, the Rural Development Programme plays a critical role in promoting vibrant, sustainable rural communities throughout the County Kilkenny.
If you are a Kilkenny Business or Community group seeking funding, you can apply by completing an Expression of Interest Form. This form which details your proposed project will go before the KLP Board who will determine if your project is eligible for funding and if you can advance to the next stage of the Application Process.
