About the LEADER Programme

KLP is pleased to announce the LEADER 2023- 2027.   KLP launched the new programme on the 15th April in the Medieval Mile Museum, Kilkenny.  Guest Speaker Minister Malcolm Noonan T.D. for Carlow-Kilkenny, Minister of State for Heritage and Electoral Reform attended and reiterated the important role that LEADER has played County-wide.  LEADER is a ‘bottoms up’ approach to rural and community development.  This EU wide Rural Development Programme is a crucial initiative aimed at enhancing the well-being of rural communities. The program provides funding, support, and guidance to local communities and businesses in rural areas, with a focus on economic and social development and environmental sustainability.  Overall, the Rural Development Programme plays a critical role in promoting vibrant, sustainable rural communities throughout the County Kilkenny.
