The South East Regional Drugs Task Force (SERDTF), the Kilkenny Leader Partnership and the Kilkenny Community and Voluntary Forum are organising a Community Consultation event for Substance Misuse on Friday April 19th, in the Pembroke Hotel, 11 Patrick Street, Kilkenny from 9:30am to 1:30pm.

The event will finish with a light lunch at 1:30.

This is a chance for you to;
• have your say about substance misuse issues in your area
• to hear what agencies are doing to respond to the issues
• find out about local services
• an opportunity to say what your area or community needs
• an opportunity to influence what and how things are done!

On the day agencies such as the Gardai, the HSE, the VEC, the Local Authority, and the Department of Social Protection will tell you what their responses to the issues are, and your response to this will be used to help plan how things are done on your behalf.

The themes for the day are;

1. Under the Influence – Drug and Alcohol Related Anti Social Behaviour and Intimidation in Communities
2. The roads to recovery – Drug and Alcohol Treatment – options and availability
3. The “Recovering” and the” Recovered” – The role of rehabilitation and reintegration

Community groups, voluntary agencies, drug service users and individuals are all welcome to attend.

Places are limited, so booking is advised.
